Academy of Advanced Manufacturing
Training Program to upskill veterans for Advanced Manufacturing opportunities.
The Mission: The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 325,000 unfilled manufacturing positions within the U.S. in December 2016. In addition to an aging manufacturing workforce and an industry advancing their production processes through technology, the talent supply will only continue to be crippled. The call to action is clear – UPSKILL and DEPLOY!
The Program: Rockwell Automation will leverage their proven engineer-in-training (EIT) program and ManpowerGroup will leverage their workforce solutions expertise to map the skill requirements for the in-demand jobs and source the talent to train. The goal is to upskill 1000 veterans annually, while providing the training and most of the living expenses at no charge to eligible trainees. After an intensive hands-on 12 week training program, successful trainees will be placed with an industry leading manufacturing employer.
The Opportunity: Military Veterans possess the core work skills to excel in an advanced manufacturing environment. Candidates with an aptitude and aspiration for private sector work at process or material manufacturers, as an entry-level skilled technician, are encouraged to apply. These advanced manufacturing technician roles handle work orders across the ‘life cycle’ of production systems from design and set up, installation to maintenance, shut down and decommissioning, and work on increasingly digital factory production equipment, industrial products, and basic IT systems.
