Network Architect
Remote work opportunity with up to 25% travel (Consulting visits to client sites)
Responsibilities and Core Requirements: We are seeking a Network Architect with design, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and design experience with solutions from one or more major networking OEM's. (Juniper or Arista preferred)
You will interface internally with other engineering teams, sales support, PMs, and procurement to leverage and provide support in a cross-functional manner.
You will have tremendous opportunity to train, learn, lead, and grow your skillset as this is a customer-facing role as well as a role that encompasses pre-sales activities outside of support.
You will be expected to learn and handle the bill of material (BOM) creation and validation process.
This role will be 50% pre-sales and 50% post-sales.
Travel requirements fluctuate but will generally be less than 20%
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience in scaling data center infrasturucture within financial, banking or fin-tech industry
Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) or Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
Solid understanding of network infrastructure devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless APs, and edge/SD WAN devices such as uCPEs.
The candidate must be highly technical and able to craft solutions, not just execute tasks defined by others.
Working knowledge and background with network performance load balancing and security-focused vendors such as F5, Palo Alto Networks, A10 and others.
Experience with datacenter and cloud ecosystem connectivity concepts such as: cloud exchanges, datacenter network layouts, transceiver and fiber compatibility, cloud gateways, peering and so forth.
Familiarity with cloud networking services such as ACLs, VPCs, IAM (Google, AWS, Azure)
Proven ability to work and problem solve independently/collaboratively, to organize workload and priorities, high-quality execution, technical innovation/adoption, and initiative.
Basic Qualifications:
Routing and switching skillsetwith working knowledge of IPv4/v6 routing and switching, advanced network communication protocols such as BGP, MPLS, QoS, VPLS, VRF, GRE, VxLAN, EVPN, IPSec, VPN, Multicast, and policy-based routing.
Understanding of the TCP/IP stack (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, HSRP, VRRP, LACP).
5+ years' experience network engineering and operations experience.
Ability to articulate complex architectures to non-technical audiences
Ability to work with multiple internal and external teams and organizations in a fast-paced highly dynamic environment.
Must be a self-starter and actively engage with customers and sales teams.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as extreme comfort in delivering presentations.
BS or MS bachelor's degree or higher
