Quality Technician- Contract to hire (6 months)- Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun- 6am-6pm CST) 36 hrs, but paid for 40 hours - Northern Suburbs
Primary duty is inspection of tight tolerance parts per blue print and sample plan for in-process and Final inspection. Candidate must be able to read blueprints with GD&T.
Individual must have experience using inspection tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, thread gauges, plug gauges, comparators etc.) Certified Mechanical Inspector preferred. Candidate must know how to apply measurement techniques to dimensions including GD&T call-outs. (Champion of GD&T is required)
Experience programming running OGP (vision system) and/or CMM is a plus.
Candidate must have microscope experience for workmanship evaluation on machined parts (burrs, edge breaks, surface/tool blends etc.)
Needs to have solid communication skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Candidate must be able to get along and work with others and be able to work overtime if need be. Candidate needs to be a self-motivated team player with an excellent work ethic, with the ability to recognize open tasks and a self-commitment to completing those tasks in an accurate and timely fashion.
Needs to feel comfortable asking questions about quality criteria with experience creating and modifying Word/Excel docs for inspection methods PPAP and FAIRs etc.
Needs to maintain compliance with companys ISO certified procedures and practices.
Maintain clean and organized work environment.
