POSITION: Estimator
LOCATION: Green Oaks, IL
TYPE: Direct Hire
*Manage estimates. Provide in-depth estimates from architectural drawings, on-line plans, preliminary project design documents, and Reps take-offs for the overall line of custom skylights, canopies, vertical wall panel, translucent polycarbonate systems, and dynamic intelligent daylighting products.

*Manage, coordinate and estimate projects during the bid stage for product panels and framing for both materials only and installed jobs.
*Advice architects, designers, sales representatives, customers, and general contractors on more complex skylight, daylighting and wall panel projects.
*Follow up on estimated projects.
*Estimate projects using in-house programs and Excel spreadsheets.
*Create take-off from architectural drawings.
*Study specifications, determine optimal product for requirements and properly apply this knowledge to the estimate.
*Write detailed quote proposals.
*Communicate with customers, representatives and internal departments.
*Coordinate outside source pricing that applies to the estimate.
*Work within a team environment of management, sales, and engineering.
*Report status of estimates using in house quote tracking system.
*Book projects as orders by filling out order analysis sheets and turning over the sold job to the project management group.
*Provide fair, friendly and consistent customer service.
*Optional- Provide daylighting and energy calculations using applicable software programs.

*1 - 3 years' experience as an estimator in the Architectural Custom Skylights, Curtain Wall, Metal Structures, Glazing, Ornamental Metal, Metal Panels or Building Envelope products.
*Structural engineers and project managers in such industries may be also considered.
*Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
*Must be able to read and understand both architectural and structural drawings
*Must be able to work under time constraints
*Good math skills (Trigonometry
*Good communication, well organized and flexible to schedule
*Basic understanding of field installation principles preferred
*Four year college degree is preferred
