Civil/Structural Designer

6+ month contract position within Engineering department. Seeking a civil designer, structural desigenr or engineer to help design and develop production lines and facilities for growing organization. Located in St. Louis, this person will help design new facilities in oterh states.

Plans, designs, and provides graphic support for all phases of civil/structural engineering work. Engages in engineering design reviews for all project pertinent drawing design packages]. Design associates also coordinate project pertinent civil/structural specifications, code adherence and calculations with the lead Civil/Structural Engineer. Perform QA reviews of work produced within the department to check for dimensional accuracy, feasibility of fabrication/construction, completeness and general presentation and guide others in how to correct any errors. The graphic design effort also involves open communication with internal designers and engineers, NPSC, PTC, TAG, outside consultants and suppliers to enable multi-discipline design coordination.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide structural engineering design assistance to factories including design support for Division Engineering. This includes graphics design facilitating new building, process equipment, piping structural, foundation, and platform design and coordination.
Associate leads and executes technical design support integrating all aspects of food processing technology, hygienic design, machinery safety, process safety, and equipment operational functionality.
Develop/modify technical design guidelines, design standards, and pertinent construction specifications with little engineering oversight.

Basic Qualifications (minimum):
Associates in Structural Engineering, Drafting or technical equivalent
5 years minimum in drafting or engineering role
Experience creating industrial structural construction drawings in Revit
Experience with wood frame, steel frame and concrete structures
Must have working knowledge of accepted industry design practices in structural and civil design
A motivated self-starter mentality
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Proven people skills
Experience working in MS Office suite, Autodesk products and/or Revit, and 3D modeling experience; BIM software experience (nice to have)
