BI Engineer
4-6 month contract
Seattle, WA

*Not eligible for corp to corp engagement

Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking two contingent employee entry level BI Engineers who will support the weekly production of Worldwide and North America Weekly Business Review reports, and will support metric and data development as available each week after completing their support for the WBR processes.
The BI Engineers will be supervised by an experienced on site BI Engineer familiar with the production processes.
In this role you will focus on working on reports, getting feedback on changes, SQL work to build changes, and working with data team to finalize any additional data to be included.
This team is working on Redshift and AWS environment and working on automation

Requirements:
Top requirements: experience in SQL, Data handling, moderate skills in Java or Python
Bachelors Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a similar quantitative field
3+ years of related experience
IT education background (data science, computer science, software, etc.)
Advanced analytical and quantitative skills; advanced knowledge of SQL and ETL jobs.
Recent experience applying visualization tools such as interactive GIS visualization and processing systems, Tableau, Qlik View or other BI tools.
Recent experience implementing basic software solutions to automate data source, visualization and/or data modeling application.
Experience working with data warehousing, data quality
Problem solving skills
Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment; ability to re-prioritize on a regular basis in order to remain current with business needs
Self-motivated; ability to handle multiple responsibilities under limited supervision
Ability to present technical results appropriately given the audience
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to influence others in a positive and professional manner
Detail-oriented

Preferred skills/experience:
SQL Certification
MBA or quantitative graduate degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field.
Experience with R, Tableau and Python preferred
Ability to source and combine disparate data sets to answer business questions
Data management and handling
