Building Controls Engineer
6+ month project assignment as a Building Controls Engineer supporting a large R&D and manufacturing facility.
Direct experience in facility management coupled with hands-on expertise with building automation systems? Required experience with Metasys Software. Controls Engineer who brings proficient knowledge and experience in GX9100, HVACPRO, XTM Configurator and/or CCT programming language.
Building Engineer will care for an impressive 700,000 square foot manufacturing and research and development center, which is a state-of-the-art technology facility. Interface with a variety of our staff while enabling projects that provide lasting value to the Facilities Department and to Seagate.
Maintain oversight and ownership of the sites building management system - Johnson Controls (JCI) Metasys system.
Edit and modify existing JCI programming to incorporate building system changes.
Provide fast response and resolution of JCI alarms as they occur. Directly develop JCI programming code to convert system point list and sequence of operation description into functioning JCI programming code for new building systems or modifications to existing systems.
Conceive and develop solutions to BMS problems through the application of professionally accepted engineering practices and procedures.
Estimate BMS related costs for labor and materials for building renovations, modifications, or system changes.
Provide engineering support to resolve interruption issues to building controls infrastructure.
Work with external vendors to maintain site BMS systems as necessary.
Provide technical resource for site maintenance technicians and engineers.
Develop and implement long term plan for site BMS system updating.
Provide both written and oral updates to management on the progress of projects and tasks
Provide project management for a variety of other related tasks and systems.
Numerous years of experience working with BMS and controls programming.
Expert Knowledge of Johnson Controls Metasys software
Low Voltage / Limited Energy electricians license or ability to obtain is preferred.
Ability to occasionally work in a cleanroom environment.
Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated and have the ability to work well with others.
Able to demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Johnson Controls including hardware selection, ordering, installing, programming, commissioning, and testing.
Proficient in GX9100, HVACPRO, XTM Configurator and CCT Programming or ability to learn.
Working knowledge of MN Low Voltage Electrical Code.
Understanding of cleanrooms and how they function.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is helpful.
Ability to work cross functionally with all levels of employees & management.
Ability to resolve issues quickly.
Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years related experience, or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years experience or equivalent combined education and experience.
