The candidate will work within a group charged with executing custom cell engineering projects and developing innovative new products. The potential new technologies used by the group span a wide range of scientific disciplines including cell biology, molecular biology, and genomics/proteomics. This position will be located at a R&D facility in St. Louis. Proven written and verbal communication skills, and excellent team skills are a must.
B.S. in Biology or Biochemistry
Working knowledge of mammalian Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or another closely related life science.
Experience in aseptic culture techniques is required.
Strong organizational, problem-solving and teamwork skills required.
Desired skills include:
Practical experience in current molecular biology techniques and in the maintenance and culture of mammalian cells is highly desired.
Proficient in BSL-2 cell culture techniques: culture and maintenance of eukaryotic cell lines (mammalian/human preferred).
Proficient in routine molecular biology techniques: DNA/RNA isolation and molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression and analysis.
Hands-on experience with the following techniques is highly desirable: PCR, real-time PCR, ELISA and Western blot analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
