We are seeking an experienced technician with excellent troubleshooting and interpersonal skills. This position is for an Installation and Service Technician working with Access Control, Biometrics, CCTV, Networking, Intrusion, Intercom and Integrated Systems.
Install, service, troubleshoot, and document projects from start to finish as described but not limited to the following: The technician will be responsible for servicing and installing intrusion detection systems and equipment, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, audio equipment and related devices such as, media converters, managed and unmanaged network switches, sensors, electric locks, wireless locks, and other applicable force protection equipment. These tasks will consist of performing a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting equipment and systems. The technician will apply practical knowledge of electronic principles and electronic security codes and standards to isolate malfunctions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
The technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on the Audio-Visual equipment identified by the task order and return faulty equipment to operating condition. Knowledge of conduit bending, fiber optic terminations, and category cable terminations. The technician is responsible for installation, documenting maintenance actions, updating drawings, time distribution, manage multiple projects at one time, managing projects and people on the projects, understand scope of work and execute, able to think and troubleshoot on their own, able to follow written and verbal instructions and carry them out as directed. Interface with the customer and carry a positive attitude.
Qualifications for the position: Education:
High School diploma or GED and any combination of the following: Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or related military school in electronics and or communications. Five (5) or more years electronic Audio-Visual industry experience. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years electrical and electronic Audio-Visual equipment installation and repair experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Experience with the installation, service, troubleshooting and programming with Crestron. Must have understanding of the construction process, timeline management, utilizing work packages and budget tracking. Excellent problem solving & communication skills.
Must have the ability to recognize and provide immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations during the construction of buildings. Ideal Traits: Candidate must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings. Experience with Personal Computer and Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word applications. Candidate must have the ability to operate hand and power tools and should have his own tools as an installer. Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently.. Candidate must have a valid drivers license and an excellent driving record Candidate must have the ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service. Must be able to operate articulating boom lifts, climb ladders, and operate such devices in accordance with OSHA standards. Flexibility, adaptability, leadership, self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision, able to work individually and as part of a team are all desirable traits.
